Too old to Drive??
Recently a 78 year old man drove the wrong way on Rte 295. After traveling for a few miles he hit a vehicle head on and was killed. The driver of the other car was hospitalized with serious injuries. The question that was raised by this event was : Should there be an age limit for driving in the state of maine? Please respond with your opinion.

I think there should be yearly eye exams and driving tests for people over the age of 60. No offence aunt fuzzy <3
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it was his age that was the problem, maybe it was just him, not age.
ReplyDeleteI also don't think it has to do with age, I think it all depends on how people age. they should still get n eye exam and check ups once a year to be safer.
DeleteIn my opinion yes there should be an age limit on driving, but not just in the state of Maine, world wide; for safety purposes. For an instints in this case, a 78 year old drove the wrong way on Route 295, recently in the news. After the old man traveling the wrong way for a few miles hits a vehicle head on and was killed. The other driver had suffered with serve injuries and was hospitalized. After being so old you lose eyesight, coordinations and memory loss, most of the time. All those reasons are said to be unsafe. You could put yourself in danger along with others that are around you driving, just like alcohol would if you were to operate a vehicle or ATV, because it would be around the same symptoms as of a old person. Also, teens should also have a limit too though no one should be able to receive there licensee before the age of 17, I feel that most young teens goof off for fun or to show off because they think it's cool, but there wrong. There are many ways to have fun without having to be dangerous.
